The Engineering and Development Department is equipped with the following design tools:

Engineering and Development Capabilities

The SL-MTI engineering and development department is active in product concept, design engineering, prototyping and pilot production of:

• Digital processor based motor controllers with Vector Control and Space Vector PWM
• High power level Sensorless AC and DC motor controllers

Design Engineering

Our Design Engineering staff utilizes a 3-D computer aided design (CAD) software (Solid Works), as well as finite element analysis and our proprietary nonlinear successive quadratic motor optimization program to assist with design analysis. We are capable of designing AC, DC, Brushless DC motors, and drives and controllers that meet our customers' requirements. Our staff of engineers and technicians offer the broadest line of motor design capabilities in the motor industry.

R&D Engineering

Our R&D staff is among the finest in the Motion Control industry. We have published many technical articles, and have numerous patents in the motor optimization and power electronics fields. We also have several electronic systems experts and a staff of motor design and magnetics experts. We are involved in new technology programs and utilize experts from various universities to help us maintain advanced technology in the Motion Control industry.

SL-MTI uses numerous proprietary motor optimization and magnetic design software packages to develop new high performance systems. Our Research & Development staff is exceptionally well equipped to develop components or higher-level systems for state-of-the-art applications and new projects.
